i was into barn wood furniture 25 years ago. my dad thought i was nuts.
he and i picked up this rustic barn wood baker’s rack at the Rose Bowl Swap Meet in ’93. isn’t it awesome? and that antique chair is one that i re-covered with a coffee bag burlap last year.
here’s a smattering of random beachy, shabby chic knick knacks.
we got this super cool bottle soldered with a gorgeous shell from a good friend. perfect!
these Dinky Toy cars came from Uncle George’s collection. he had a serious hoarding problem, and these were from his early ‘collections.’
one of his last requests was for our boys to have a few and for the remainder of the collection to be donated to the Nixon Library for their Christmas display.
the Nixon Library loved the gift and Uncle George would be happy to know that his collection has been put to good use.
who’s hiding in the baker’s rack?
Big A has found a new hiding place!
i love this old scale. the chippy and rusty paint make me wonder how this scale was used. hopefully not for anything illicit!
my Dad is an audiophile. he was a DJ during Vietnam for Armed Forces Radio Network. He has a great collection of old radios.
and he got this super cool Swedish oil lantern while overseas. the purple glass and brass are still in excellent condition.
this green buoy makes me so happy. it matches the blues and greens so perfectly in our home.
this mack daddy amber buoy has such a cool shape. definitely hand blown…and probably 60+ years ago!
thanks for hanging out in my front entry.
